The Maryland Chapter of NOBLE invites you to become a part of Baltimore history by having your portrait painted into the "Pride of Charm City". This 7ft by 30ft oil painting will be a rendering of people strolling and enjoying the heart of the Baltimore Inner Harbor - the Inner Harbor Amphitheatre area.
Your participation in this unique fundraising project will support the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives Missions and the upcoming 2010 NOBLE National Conference to be held in Baltimore in July 2010.
WHAT IS "PRIDE OF CHARM CITY"?
The "Pride of Charm City" is a fundraising project sponsored by the Maryland Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE). This project is planned to debut at the NOBLE Annual Conference and Exhibition scheduled for July 2010. The painting will immortalize persons and businesses that have played a part in making Baltimore, Maryland one of the greatest cities in America.
This realistic portrayal of persons (living or deceased) will be placed within the setting of one of America's best known tourist attractions, the Baltimore Inner Harbor.
WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING THAT IS RAISED?
The funds raised from "Pride of Charm City" will go toward:
- Annual college scholarships for selected Maryland High School students.
- Supporting the 2010 NOBLE Annual Conference and Exhibition.
- Supporting the activities of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE).
- Funding NOBLE painting project administrative expenses.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Tina Phillips, a well known and highly successful portrait artist with over 25 years of experience, has been commissioned to paint the many individual faces which will appear in the "Pride of Charm City". She specializes in portraiture with an impressive list of clients including Former Pennsylvania Governor Robert P. Casey, PA State Representative Elinor Z. Taylor, past president of PHEAA Kenneth Reyer, Senator Robert P. Casey Jr., and Speaker of the PA House John M. Perzel. Her work is part of many coporate and private collections and is included in the permanent collection of the Pennsylvania State Museum and the Pennsylvania State Capitol.
In 2001, Ms. Phillips completed "Opening Night", an 8ft by 24ft painting project, consisting of 242 patron portraits and raised over $1,000,000 for the Theatre Harrisburg. This is on permanent display at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts, Harrisburg, PA. |
HOW CAN I BE FEATURED IN THE "PRIDE OF CHARM CITY" PROJECT?
Your position in the overall painting will be determined by your donation; the larger the donation the closer to the front you will be placed. Donations will vary from $500 to $6,000 per person. Once you have decided on your donation amount, you will sign a donation agreement with NOBLE.
The artist will paint your portrait from photos she will take of you at an agreed upon meeting. If you are honoring a deceased friend or relative, the artist can work with your photographs.
Arrangements will be made with you once you have submitted a pledge card or donation agreement. Positions within the donation level will be on a first-come, first served basis. Positions are limited in each giving level.
